Automotive leaders adopt Rightware Kanzi

Wealth of HMI solutions powered by Rightware Kanzi at CES 2015 indicates strong and growing momentum

CES 2015, LAS VEGAS, NV, January 5, 2015

Rightware, a global leader in automotive user interface creation tools, revealed today that its Kanzi UI solution is being used by a rapidly increasing number of industry leaders to power the automotive Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) of tomorrow. Rightware Kanzi is the only UI solution with a fully digital automotive instrument cluster currently in mass production.

Rightware and QNX Software Systems Limited, a subsidiary of BlackBerry Limited and a global leader in software platforms for connected embedded systems, today unveiled their latest collaboration: a next-generation, fully digital instrument cluster for the new QNX® technology concept car, based on a Maserati Quattroporte. Rightware’s design team used Rightware Kanzi to create a digital cluster that communicates the Maserati brand image while showcasing the latest trends in HMI design. With the QNX Neutrino® OS as the platform, Rightware engineers easily integrated the cluster with underlying vehicle data and services — including navigation, multimedia, speed, RPM, and car diagnostics — through an abstraction layer based on QNX persistent publish/subscribe (PPS) technology. Global automotive supplier Visteon Corporation (NYSE: VC) is showcasing various automotive HMI solutions built on Rightware Kanzi at their CES 2015 pavilion. Solutions on display in the pavilion showcase advanced 2D and 3D rendering in various digital automotive clusters. Rightware and Visteon have recently entered into a strategic partnership and have several production vehicles in development.

“We are excited to see several leading automotive OEMs and Tier 1s adopting Rightware Kanzi as their preferred solution for developing digital clusters and in-vehicle infotainment systems. Our partners’ demos at CES are a great indication of what can be expected from some of the ~10 OEMs that are already using Kanzi in their production projects,” said Jonas Geust, CEO of Rightware.
